Most extension developers build for one platform and hope it fits every use case. We started Cogsnug because we kept running into the opposite problem: teams running Joomla, OTOBO, or WordPress who had a very specific, very reasonable need — and nothing on the marketplace quite met it.Enter a 2 sentence intro. Not because the big platforms are bad, but because "built for everyone" often means "built for no one in particular."
Cogsnug exists to close that gap. They design and build extensions, components, plugins and add-ons for Joomla, OTOBO and WordPress that do one job well, integrate cleanly with the platform they live in, and don't ask you to change how you work to use them. The name is the whole philosophy in one word: the right piece, snugly fitted, no forcing it.
Joomla, OTOBO and WordPress solve different problems for different teams — content management, IT service and ticketing, and general-purpose web publishing — but they share a common failure mode. As they mature, the gap between "what the platform does out of the box" and "what a specific team actually needs" tends to widen, and it's usually filled by whichever extension happens to be popular rather than the one that's actually well-built for the job.
They'd rather be the second kind. Every Cogsnug product starts from a real, specific workflow problem, not a feature list we thought would look good in a marketplace listing. That's meant staying a smaller, more focused shop than some of our competitors — and they think that's exactly why their extensions tend to feel like they were built by people who actually use the platform, because they are.
Recently shipped are three new products, and each one grew out of the same instinct: find the part of the workflow that's still manual, fragile, or missing entirely, and fix it properly.
Backup Tools for OTOBO gives OTOBO administrators a reliable, dedicated way to back up their ticketing system — without stitching together cron jobs, shell scripts and hope. If OTOBO is where your support or IT operations live, it's also where your organisational memory lives, and it deserves better than an afterthought backup strategy.
OTOBO Theme Customiser hands visual control of your OTOBO instance back to the people running it, without needing a developer on call for every tweak. OTOBO is powerful but famously utilitarian out of the box; the Theme Customiser is about making it feel like your helpdesk, not a default install everyone recognises.
SnugStage for Joomla is the one we're most excited about. It gives Joomla site owners real staging environments — clone your live site into a proper staging copy, sync files and database both ways, and roll back a bad change in one click, all from inside your own Joomla admin panel. No FTP, no manual database exports, no SSH access you may not even have. SnugStage ships free with one staging environment forever; paid tiers add selective sync, scheduled automation, multiple environments and rollback safety nets for teams running Joomla as mission-critical infrastructure rather than a hobby site.
Different platforms, different problems — but every Cogsnug product is held to the same standard: it should install cleanly, do what it says, and get out of your way. We don't chase feature bloat, and we don't ship something just because it's technically possible. If an extension doesn't make your day-to-day easier, we don't think it belongs in your stack, no matter how impressive it looks on a landing page.
A young company with a growing catalogue, and Backup Tools for OTOBO, OTOBO Theme Customiser and SnugStage are just the start. If you're running Joomla, OTOBO or WordPress and there's a piece missing that should just fit — that's exactly the conversation they want to have.
