No — the whole upgrade is built and tested on a private staging copy first. Your live site keeps running as normal until we're ready to switch over, which typically takes minutes, not hours.

This comes up often with older sites. We'll identify a compatible replacement that does the same job wherever possible, or, for something bespoke, look at redeveloping just that piece — all covered in the scoping quote, not sprung on you afterwards.

Yes, though very old versions usually need to pass through one or two intermediate steps behind the scenes to migrate the database and content safely. That's all handled as part of the project — you just get the finished Joomla 6 site.

Done properly it shouldn't — URLs, redirects and page metadata are carried across as part of every migration, and we check search visibility again after go-live. Rankings dropping is almost always a sign of a rushed migration, which is exactly what the staging step is there to prevent.

Not necessarily — if your current hosting meets Joomla 6's requirements we're happy to migrate in place. If it's outdated or struggling, we'll flag that in the scoping audit and can move you to our UK-based SSD hosting at the same time.
