What is a trojan?
A trojan refers to a program that appears as something you may think is safe but hidden inside is usually something harmful such a virus or worm. These so called trojans are usually disguised as pictures, downloadable games or other executable programs. When you execute (run) the program, this is when the trojan gets to work. Many trojans simply cause annoyance such as displaying pop ups every 5 seconds, restarting your computer and other such annoyances. However a worm or virus will usually cause damage to your system.
